Jenny Hval is considered by many as one of the most unique contemporary voices in Norwegian music. Her newly released album ‘The Practice of Love’ contains sampled dance beats combined with poetic and personal texts. The result is an affecting, transcendental album existing in the realm between pop and avant-garde.

Our top track this week is ‘Accident’ – a song that, according to Hval herself, took both “ten years to write, and twenty minutes to write”.
