UK tour and album release from Monica Heldal

October is set to be an exciting month for Monica Heldal as she embarks on a UK tour and releases her debut album Boy From the North on the UK market.

The album hits the streets on 9 October, but if you want to hear the songs ahead of release make sure to catch Heldal on tour. She will (likely) come to a town near you, visiting both Leeds, Nottingham, Liverpool, Bristol, Manchester and London in the beginning of the month.

The 24-year-old from Bergen has perfected her own unique sound – an engaging mix of Americana, Bluegrass and Irish Folk, which won her two Norwegian grammys. At 16 she had already began playing and composing music, notably writing the song Silly Willy that can be found on her debut album, Boy From the North. The album consists of ten songs, produced by Ben Howard’s drummer Chris Bond, who is also featured on the album.

Heldal has previously supported Tom Petty in Oslo, who quickly became a fan, and toured Europe with Ben Howard. Now it’s finally her turn in the limelight.
