Nordic Craft and Design

at Manchester Art Gallery

A year-long exhibition of Nordic Craft and Design at Manchester Art Gallery features important and influential 20th and 21st century craft and design from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.

Nordic designers have been, and continue to be, at the forefront of exploring new ideas, materials and techniques which have made good, affordable design available to a wide constituency, underpinning a philosophy of democratic and cultural life for all people. The influence of Nordic design has had a major impact on contemporary design and lifestyle commercially, informing the way we live and the things we buy.

Showcasing furniture, fashion, lighting, ceramics, glass, metalwork and jewellery, Nordic Craft and Design highlights the superb quality and creativity inherent in design from the region and features pieces from 1930 to the present day.
