For many people, ‘Nordic’ has become a shorthand term for unadorned simplicity, clean functionality, and natural materials – but does the label still hold true? This landmark exhibition of contemporary design from the five Nordic countries aims to showcase the commonalities and contrasts between the modern design cultures of Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Iceland.

The show will also include short films with the participating designers, exploring the processes and ideas behind their work and their relationship to their national design culture.The design produced by these five countries is traditionally grouped under the label of ‘Nordic’ – design shorthand for clean lines, natural materials, simplicity and functionality.
