The Oslo-based choir sang in London in 2015, in front of an audience spellbound by their rich sound and melodic accuracy. In January they return to the atmospheric church of St Mary’s in south London, to perform music by Norwegian and other composers that has rarely been heard in England.
The choir consists of 24 highly qualified and internationally acknowledged singers, with Nina T. Karlsen as their artistic director. Ensemble 96 has a particular focus on contemporary music and seeks to expand the traditional choir concert by means of collaborations with other artists, including dancers, actors and visual artists. The ensemble often presents a mix of contemporary music and classical songs.
