English National Ballet: She Persisted

at Sadler's Wells

English National Ballet presents She Persisted, a triple bill celebrating women’s voices in dance at Sadler’s Wells theatre from 4-13 April.

She Persisted builds on She Said, English National Ballet’s first all-female choreography programme. The three stories told in She Persisted are all by and about women.

Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s piece Broken Wings inspired by the iconic painter Frida Kahlo, and is based on Kahlo’s life and arts in a colourful ballet. The second piece featured is Le Sacre du printemps (The Rite of Spring) by the widely influential choreographer Pina Bausch. The third piece, Nora by Stina Quagebeur is inspired by the lead character in Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, a story about a woman on the path to independence.
