The Performance Studio presents Marita Isobel Solberg

at The Performance Studio

Born in 1977 and raised in Manndalen in Northern Norway, Marita Isobel Solberg grew up surrounded by both Sami, Kven and Norwegian cultures living side by side. Now she is ready for a new performance at The Performance Studio.

Her new performance called Inside the metaphor of the sun and the line and the cave is the described with the following text:

In a search for the inner good

In a state of longing,

Longing for the good,

inside us, in our lives, in the world.

I aim to create moments of deep reflection upon our possibilities, our hopes and our relations.

I turn around

I turn around,

again,

again,

in sympathy with the universe.

In 2012 Solberg was an artist in residence at The Performance Studio in 2012, and these days she lives and works as a musician and visual artist in Tromsø. Solberg mixes different artistic expressions in her work, focusing mainly on sound, performance art and installation. Her work is often site-specific and explores a world of challenge, strangeness, melancholy and desire.
