Oslo meets East London and business meets pleasure this Friday at a day-long celebration of the most innovative ideas from emerging tech, music and fashion start-ups in the Norwegian capital, and their Hackney counterparts.
The programme of events begins at midday at The Trampery on Old Street, and includes panel discussions on emerging Nordic tech, talks with Norwegian fashion pioneers Alexander Marthinsen of F5 and Auma founder Gloria Auma, a music tech pitching competition from innovation hub MashUP, a presentation from Unacast’s Kjarten Slette and the official launch of the Oslo Innovation Embassy. There’s even a beer-tap hackathon, in which communal production facilitators Fellesverkstedet will build their own tap pumping beer from open-access brewery Ubrew.
Come evening, the action moves to Hackney Central’s Oslo venue (where else?) for live shows from maverick Nordic indie-pop sextet Kid Astray and dancefloor-filling DJ duo Project Fresh Socks – the perfect offbeat end to a day of cross-cultural creativity and start-up inspiration.
