Alvestad’s work is described as “charged with energy and drama”, and possess a unique cinematic quality. Even though his paintings often feature mundane and domestic subjects, the worlds he portrays are anything but. Influenced by cartoonesque storyboards and the work of David Hockney, Alvestads’s paintings are full of colour and movement. The title of the exhibition functions as a joke, but is also an expression of a stubborn instinct or even an innate destructive desire in humans. The works in this exhibition provide both mystery and an urge to search and find.
