Bursting out of the vital rock scene in the 1990’s Norway, it was clear from the get-go that Madrugada was one of a kind. They possessed a fierce intensity in their soulful, melancholic music that struck a deep, blue note with audience and critics alike. When the band disbanded in 2008, many followers lost their favourite band. The news of Madrugada’s surprise comeback in 2019 has unleashed great enthusiasm among their audience home and abroad. Two announced concerts in their adopted hometown of Oslo in February 2019 sold out, and the ongoing European tour sees the band reunite with their faithful fans across the continent.
Madrugada’s ‘Industrial Silence’ reunion tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of their debut album of the same name. ‘Shine’ is one of the tracks on that very first record – and one of our all-time favourite songs.
Madrugada performs in Islington Assembly Hall on Monday 28 October.
