Top Track: Pom Poko – Leg Day

Norwegian avant-pop band Pom Poko formed in 2016, when the members met as students at the Music Conservatoire in the city of Trondheim. The talented quartet has received great reviews for their debut album ‘Birthday’, remarkable for their very own sound – and it is possibly this distinctive sound that has made them so noticeable internationally.

Fresh from playing a raucous and sold out debut album launch party at London’s Shacklewell Arms, Pom Poko sold out their headline show at The Lexington in April. Now, they are back in the UK, touring with their sweetly punky, afro-jazzy and highly energetic melodies. We are warming up by listening to their song ‘Leg Day’ – a joyful tune that definitely makes it hard for us to sit still. The choreography is by Norwegian dance artist collective De Naïve (meaning “the naïve”).

Pom Poko will perform at Scala in London on 23rd October, as well as in several other British cities between the 17th and the 26th October. Click for tour dates and tickets.
