ISÁK is a trio that mixes traditional Sápmi joik with modern electro pop music. Ella Marie Hætta’s traditional joik meets electronic beats, courtesy of Hackney based producer Daniel Eriksen, accompanied by drummer Aleksanger Kostopoulos. Together ISÁK presents a new way of making Sámi music, mixing both English and Sámi in their songs. Their new single Ealán is about “celebrating life, even if it sometimes hurts”, the band says on their Facebook page.
