Lau + Bugge Wesseltoft, Henrik Schwarz and Dan Berglund

at Barbican

As part of the Barbican’s London Jazz Festival events, Celtic folk three-piece Lau (“Perhaps the best live band in the country,” according to The Guardian) will be joined in a double bill by a pan-European electronica trio, featuring Finnish bassist Dan Berglund, renowned German DJ Henrik Schwarz and pioneering Norwegian jazz pianist Bugge Wesseltoft.

Having begun his professional music career at just 19, Wesseltoft’s impact on the Norwegian music scene cannot be underestimated – he’s frequently credited with introducing a new ‘club-friendly’ sound into contemporary jazz.

The performance at the Barbican on 22 November marks the release of a new recording for Wesseltoft, Schwarz and Berglund – as well as their first ever performance together in London.
