Ja Ja Ja Club presents: Loveless

at The Lexington

You should know the drill by now. Each month Ja Ja Ja – A Nordic affair puts on a club night that showcases up-and-coming Scandi bands, and October is no exception. The lineup boosts an electronic flair, with Kill J (DK) and MAASAI (SE) joining Norwegian band Loveless at Islington’s The Lexington next Thursday.

While Kill J is being hailed as the fiercest drone pop (!) artist on the market, MAASAI are more minimalistic in their approach, leaving Loveless somewhere in-between the two on the electro intensity scale. In an interview with Ja Ja Ja the Norwegian band, made up of Eirik Tillerli and Filip Kollsete, explained their musical visions.

“Our philosophy is that the music we make must evoke a certain feeling in us. And that’s basically it, we both have to feel like it’s something special when we are making it. Whether it’s making us want to dance or cry, or hopefully both at the same time!”

So if you’re dancing and crying while listening to Loveless, you’re probably doing it right.

The Loveless boys teamed up in late 2013 and their debut single How To Love You was instantly added to national radio. Clocking in an excess of 500.000 streams last year, their music has picked up international attention from blogs, magazines and DJs all over the world – in addition to landing them gigs at Norway’s biggest festivals and even their own club night in Oslo, called Klubb Loveless.

The rest of the year will be a busy one for the boys, as they draw back to the studio to finish their upcoming EP, Relationships. But watch out, new single Elephant might drop any minute now. The guys have even hinted that there will be a premiere of a new track at the Ja Ja Ja Club night. See you there?
