Dark pop from Aurora

at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen

Following on from a sold-out show at London’s Ace Hotel in June, the prodigious Aurora returns to the capital’s East in mid-September. The Bergen native will be bringing her dark pop songs along with bag loads of personality and charm to the Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on September 18.

In addition to that, a new video for the melancholic and mysterious ‘Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)’ is out now. It showcases a more minimal style than we have come to expect from Aurora, with the singer as the pure focus of the black-and-white video. It is undoubtedly one of her most impressive vocal performances and a small taster of what is to come in the near future.

The 19-year-old has risen to prominence in the past year or so and has attracted huge attention on both sides of the Atlantic, including megastar praise from none other than Katy Perry. Her debut EP, Running With the Wolves, was released in spring this year via Glassnote/Decca and her first full-length record is planned for release early in 2016 through the same labels.

But, if you are unlucky enough to miss Aurora’s show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, then do not panic. She will be supporting the top-10 charting Icelandic quintet Of Monsters and Men at the O2 Academy in Brixton on November 25, right after a tour of her native Norway.
