On May 30 Norwegian musician ARY returns to the UK to perform at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in London. The Trondheim-raised and Oslo-based artist has been carefully plotting her career path for the past 12 months or so. ‘Childhood Dreams’ deals with ARY’s thoughts on her own development as an artist; how she’s grown as a songwriter and performer. There’s an air of confidence, but most prominently, ambition, in this new single – ARY is doing everything right.
Debut single ‘Higher’ was released via prestigious electronic label Eskimo Recordings in 2015 and was quickly A-listed by NRK P3 in Norway. That collaboration with fellow Norwegian producer and artist Carl Louis proved to be a fruitful one, with their follow up effort together, ‘Telescope’, following a similar trajectory to the P3 A-list.
With her alluring voice thriving in a backdrop of booming beats and gripping synths, ARY has definitely found her own space amidst the vast landscape of electronic pop in just one year of writing music alone. With her roots not only in Norway – her family ties to Trinidad “The Rainbow Land” – adding another unique element to her extensive palette of inspiration.
