UK Tour
A lot has happened for Aurora since the last time she did gigs in the UK. She has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and sung on several big festivals such as Roskilde, Bestival and Lollapalooza. This autum, Fader even made a short film on the 20 year old.
Aurora grew up in Bergen, spending her youth immersed in a mixture of classical music and modern legends such as Dylan and Cohen. These influences are apparent in her epic compositions and deeply personal lyrics, while the rain-beaten surroundings of her hometown are, she says, the inspiration for the thread of melancholy that runs through her work.
Her earlier appearances in England earned her a ‘one to watch’ label from The Guardian, and her storming performance at Green Man in September last year left The Line of Best Fit smitten with her “passionate, animated delivery” and her aptly paradoxical “joyous celebration of melancholy”. Her ever-expanding fan base has lapped up every single off it so far. ‘I went to far’ which is one of the tracks from her latest LP All My Demons Greting Me As A Friend has currently almost 6 million YouTube views after only two months on the internet.
It seems like everyone wants a bit of the songbird from Bergen, Norway these days. Now you can get the chance as well. Whether you live in Glasgow, Oxford or Leeds, there is a gig for you:
